About MarinMax The MarinMax program was developed to provide a reuse service for residents, businesses, non-profit organizations, and schools located in Marin County. This free online resource allows members of the community to search for used items they need or give up items they have no use for or might otherwise dispose of. Appliances, firewood, construction materials, clothing, furniture, scrap metal, electronics, and a wide variety of other materials can all be traded on MarinMax. This website is an invaluable tool for the members of the community and the environmental health of the County of Marin. MarinMax was created by the Marin County Department of Public Works in partnership with the Marin County Hazardous and Solid Waste Joint Powers Authority with funding provided by the California Integrated Waste Management Board. The goal of all three of these organizations is to reduce waste, increase reuse and recycling and prevent environmental degradation.
